Now that Christmas is around the corner, it's time to get into the kitchen and make our house smell festive like it used to be, remember? Surely you remember! I'm talking about grandma's house, where she was waiting for us with fragrant sweets. You understood well the reason for the honey macaroons, which are loved by young and old. We asked the grandmother and she told us the secrets. We tried them and they are great!
Materials you will need
For the gingerbread
- 1 glass of water oil (prefer sunflower oil as it makes them lighter and does not leave you with the taste of olive oil)
- 1/2 glass of sugar water
- 1/2 glass of water orange juice
- 3 glasses of water soft flour
- 1 cup of cognac coffee
- 2 teaspoons of baking powder
- 1/2 teaspoon baking soda
For the sprinkling
- grated walnuts for sprinkling
- 1 teaspoon of cinnamon
- 1/2 teaspoon cloves
- zest from 1-2 oranges
- zest of 1-2 lemons
- some sugar
For the syrup
- 1 glass of sugar water
- 1 glass of honey water
- 1 glass of water with water
Implementation
- Mix the flour with the baking powder.
- Mix the oil and sugar separately.
- Dissolve the soda in the orange juice.
- Pour the juice mixture into the oil mixture with sugar, cinnamon cloves and cognac.
- Pour the flour mixture into the liquid mixture, little by little, and knead until the dough becomes soft.
- Shape the honey macarons small or large (but they must be the same size for even baking), and press them with a fork to make the surface grooved.
- Bake them in a moderate oven for 20-30 minutes.
- Mix the grated walnut, sugar, cinnamon and lemon and orange zest.
- Pour the water and sugar into a saucepan and boil for a few minutes (to dissolve the sugar).
- When it boils, add the honey and mix so that the liquid is uniform.
- We place a few honey macarons at a time and leave them for 4-5 minutes, so that they become honeyed.
- Take them out and place them carefully on a plate. Pour the mixture with the walnut in each row.
