Diktamo leaves

Diktamo, also known as Erontas, is an endemic herb of Crete with a rich history and healing properties. This aromatic plant is known for its pain-relieving and healing properties. It is traditionally used to treat stomach disorders, headaches, neuralgia and as an emmenagogue. Its leaves, fluffy and heart-shaped, are collected from the steep rocks of the mountains of Crete and are used both in drinks and in cooking recipes to add a special flavor. In addition to its therapeutic uses, dictamom is also known for its antiseptic, tonic and antispasmodic effects, making it a valuable herb in traditional Cretan pharmacopoeia.
